Why we incorporate the Australian Curriculum

You will be surprised to learn that not all tutoring centres in Australia follow the Australian Curriculum. Below we explain why we choose to stick to the Australian Curriculum and outline its benefits.


Relevance

The number one reason we follow the Australian Curriculum is because our tutoring centre is based in Australia and should therefore be teaching our students what they are learning at school. We know what subjects they need to know and what criteria they must meet in order to do well at school. Our tutors are well versed in the Australian Curriculum and would be able to teach and provide support to students that are struggling at school and want to improve their grades.


Wide range of topics

Are you worried that your child is missing something important at school? You will be pleased to know that the Australian Curriculum covers many topics in each subject, ensuring that your child has covered everything that is deemed age appropriate. The amount of content per subject is similar to curriculums from other high performing countries, so there is no need to stress that your child is missing out.


Challenging depth in English and Mathematics

English and Mathematics are consistently studied to a challenging degree throughout the school years in Australia. This means the Australian Curriculum emphasises deep understanding of each topic so that they can apply literacy and numeracy skills learnt in real life contexts and situations.


Three-dimensional learning

What makes the Australian Curriculum distinct is the focus on cross-curriculum learning. The three-dimensional learning diagram shows the equal importance placed on each criterion. The diagram demonstrates that each topic can be covered in other areas of study and should not be considered as separate entities.




Critical and Creative Thinking

What makes the Australian Curriculum different is the emphasis on critical and creative thinking. We stray away from rote learning and instead, encourage students to analyse the information so that they can problem solve and come up with alternatives. This involves using logic and reasoning to think about the topic more deeply, which enhances students’ understanding.
